Getting Started

Set up Shipchart to track your projects, revenue, and goals. This guide walks you through everything from creating your account to installing apps and connecting your tools.

1. Create your account

Sign up for a free Shipchart account. You'll get access to project tracking, revenue logging, ideas, goals, and more. The Free plan supports up to 4 projects — upgrade to Pro any time for unlimited access.

2. Add your projects

Head to Projects and add the things you're building. Each project tracks its stage (planning, building, launched, growing), revenue, goals, and roadmap. Add a description and set the stage so you can see your full portfolio at a glance.

If you're already earning revenue, you can log it manually or connect Stripe to sync it automatically.

3. Connect your integrations

Go to Settings → Integrations to connect the services you use:

  • Stripe — Automatically sync your revenue data
  • GitHub — Link repositories to track development activity

Integrations keep your dashboard up to date without manual data entry.

4. Install apps

Shipchart works wherever you do. Install the apps that fit your workflow:

Mac app

Native macOS app for quick access to your dashboard, projects, and check-ins from the menu bar.

iOS app

Check your portfolio, log revenue, and write check-ins from your phone.

CLI

Manage your portfolio from the terminal. Track projects, log revenue, delegate tasks to AI agents, and pipe output to scripts.

MCP Server

Connect your AI assistant (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, ChatGPT, Gemini) to manage your portfolio with natural language.

5. Set up the API

If you want to build custom integrations or use the CLI / MCP server, you'll need an API token. Go to Settings → API Tokens to create one, or follow the API Quick Start guide.

6. Explore

Once your projects are set up, explore everything Shipchart offers:

  • Dashboard — See your monthly revenue, project health, and recent activity at a glance
  • Goals — Set revenue and growth targets with automatic progress tracking
  • Check-ins — Journal your progress with mood tracking to spot patterns over time
  • Ideas — Capture future project ideas with excitement, difficulty, and market scores
  • Roadmaps — Plan what's next for each project
  • AI delegation — Delegate tasks to AI agents that work on your behalf
