Terms of Service
Last updated: April 7, 2026
Shipchart ("we", "our", "us") operates this service. These terms govern your use of the Shipchart web application at shipchart.app, the Shipchart iOS/Mac application, and the Shipchart API and MCP server (collectively, "the Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
Your Account
You need an account to use Shipchart. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. If you think someone else has accessed your account, let us know immediately at support@shipchart.app.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Shipchart.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. One person, one account — please don't create multiple accounts.
What Shipchart Does
Shipchart is a portfolio dashboard for tracking projects, revenue, expenses, goals, and roadmaps. It's a tool for organising your own business data. We don't provide financial advice, accounting services, or tax guidance. The revenue, profit, and analytics figures in Shipchart are based on the data you enter and should not be relied upon as certified financial records.
Free and Pro Plans
Free plan: Up to 4 active projects, up to 4 active goals, and access to core features including revenue tracking, check-ins, ideas, roadmap, expenses, and notifications. The free plan is genuinely free — no trial period, no credit card required, no time limit.
Pro plan: Unlimited projects and goals, plus portfolio analytics, Stripe auto-sync, custom metrics, public roadmap sharing, API and MCP access, and revenue projections.
We may change what's included in each plan. If we reduce what's in the plan you're paying for, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice.
Subscriptions & Payments
Web Subscriptions (Stripe)
Paid subscriptions (Builder and Scaler) purchased on the web are billed through Stripe. You can choose monthly or annual billing. Prices are in US dollars.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page in your account settings. When you cancel, you keep Pro access until the end of your current paid period. After that, your account reverts to the Free plan.
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you're unhappy, email us and we'll sort it out.
iOS / Mac App Subscriptions (Apple)
Pro subscriptions purchased through the iOS or Mac app are billed through your Apple ID via the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Auto-renewal: Your subscription automatically renews unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Managing and canceling: You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Turning off auto-renewal stops future charges but lets you keep Pro access until the end of your current paid period.
Free trial: If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Apple's standard terms for auto-renewable subscriptions apply. Prices for App Store subscriptions may differ slightly from web prices due to Apple's pricing tiers and the App Store commission.
What Happens When You Cancel or Downgrade
Your data is never deleted when you downgrade from Pro to Free. All your projects, revenue entries, check-ins, and other data are preserved. You just can't create new projects or goals beyond the Free plan limits, and Pro-only features become inaccessible until you resubscribe. You can always re-subscribe and everything is exactly as you left it.
Your Data
You own your data. The projects, revenue entries, check-ins, goals, roadmaps, ideas, and everything else you enter into Shipchart belongs to you. We don't claim any ownership or intellectual property rights over your content.
We can use your data to provide the Service. This means storing it, displaying it to you, computing analytics from it, including it in email digests you've opted into, and making it available via the API and MCP server when you authenticate. We don't use your data for any other purpose.
You can delete your data. You can delete individual items within the app, or delete your entire account in Settings. Account deletion is permanent and removes all your data.
You can export your data. The app provides export features for analytics and financial summaries. For a complete data export, contact us at support@shipchart.app and we'll provide it in a reasonable timeframe.
Third-Party Integrations
Stripe Connect: When you connect your Stripe account, you authorize us to read your product and revenue data via Stripe's API. We access this data with read-only permissions. You can disconnect at any time.
AI Assistants (MCP/API): When you connect Shipchart to an AI assistant (Claude, Cursor, etc.) via our API or MCP server, you authorize that assistant to access and potentially modify your Shipchart data within the permissions you've granted. You're responsible for the actions taken by AI tools you connect. We're not responsible for how third-party AI services process or store data they receive from Shipchart.
OAuth Connections: When third-party services connect to Shipchart via OAuth, you explicitly authorize the connection through a consent screen. You can revoke access at any time.
Your responsibility: When you connect any third-party service to Shipchart — whether through our API, MCP server, OAuth, or any other integration method — you are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of that service complies with its own terms of service, acceptable use policies, and any other applicable agreements between you and that provider. Shipchart is not a party to those agreements and accepts no liability for any consequences arising from your use of, or any action taken by, a third-party service, including but not limited to account suspensions, restrictions, or terminations imposed by that provider.
API & MCP Usage
If you use the Shipchart API or MCP server, you agree to:
- Use it for its intended purpose (managing your own portfolio data)
- Not exceed reasonable usage limits (we'll let you know if you're hitting them)
- Keep your API tokens secure and not share them publicly
- Not use the API to scrape, copy, or redistribute the Service
We may rate-limit or suspend API access if we detect abuse.
Acceptable Use
Don't use Shipchart to:
- Do anything illegal
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
- Use automated tools to scrape or overload the Service
- Impersonate someone else
- Transmit malware or malicious code
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Availability & Support
We aim to keep Shipchart available and running smoothly, but we don't guarantee 100% uptime. Things break sometimes. We'll do our best to fix issues quickly and communicate about planned maintenance.
Shipchart is provided by a small independent team (realistically, one person). Support is provided on a best-effort basis via email. We're not a 24/7 operation.
Limitation of Liability
Shipchart is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or the Service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for things that cannot be excluded under UK law (such as fraud or death/personal injury caused by negligence).
Intellectual Property
The Shipchart name, logo, and the Service itself (code, design, documentation) are our intellectual property. Your use of the Service doesn't grant you any rights to our branding or intellectual property beyond what's needed to use the Service normally.
You retain all rights to the data and content you enter into Shipchart.
Account Termination
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. This permanently deletes all your data.
We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. If we discontinue the Service, we'll give at least 90 days' notice and provide a way to export your data.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or with a notice in the app at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
