Feature overview

Everything Shipchart tracks for each of your projects.

This page is the short tour. It starts with the money, moves on to projects, plans and the weekly check, and ends with the integrations and the ways to reach your data from a terminal or an AI assistant.

/money

Revenue, costs and profit
for every project.

Record what each project earns and what it costs to run, and Shipchart works out the profit. On a paid plan, Stripe revenue syncs by itself. Stripe is the only automatic source today, so anything else is typed in once a month.

Stripe sync
Revenue comes in from Stripe once a day.
Manual entry
Recurring or one-time, per project, per month.
Expenses
Hosting, domains, tools and marketing.

/goals

Goals that read
your own numbers.

Set a target for one project or for the whole portfolio. If the goal is tied to revenue, profit or a metric, progress updates itself as the numbers come in. You can also keep a goal manual and move it yourself.

  • ›Track revenue, profit, profit margin or any metric you record
  • ›Due on a specific date, or at the end of this month, quarter or year
  • ›Reminders to update the goals you track by hand
  • ›An email when a goal is achieved, close to its deadline or missed

Revenue and costs

Revenue

Recurring and one-time revenue, recorded per project for each month.

Stripe sync

Connect Stripe on a paid plan and revenue comes in once a day. Stripe is the only automatic source today. Everything else is typed in.

Expenses and profit

Hosting, domains, tools and marketing costs against each project, so you see profit next to revenue.

Five currencies

USD, GBP, EUR, CAD and AUD. Totals convert to your currency at the exchange rate for the month the money came in.

/projects
Projects and plans

Project stages

Planning, building, launched, growing, dormant or dead. Every project has one.

Roadmaps

Now, Next and Later columns for each project, with a public read-only version if you want one.

Work items

Break a roadmap item into smaller tasks and tick them off as you go.

Ideas

Park an idea, score it by excitement, difficulty and market size, and promote it to a project when you are ready.

/week
Week to week

Check-ins

A short note and a mood for each project. Shipchart can draft one from your recent activity.

Goals

Targets for one project or the whole portfolio. Progress updates itself from revenue, profit or a metric.

Needs attention

The dashboard lists goals that are off track, unresolved errors and projects with no recent check-in.

Weekly digest

An email summary for the weeks you forget to look, plus alerts for revenue changes and goal deadlines.

/analytics
Analytics

Trends

Revenue, expenses and profit by month across the portfolio. Six months of history on free, 36 on the Builder plan.

Growth leaderboard

Your projects ranked by how fast their revenue has grown over the last few months.

Revenue concentration

How much of your income depends on one product, stated in a sentence.

Custom metrics

Customers, churn, signups, trials or anything else you count, charted per project.

/connect
Integrations and access

Six integrations

Stripe, GitHub, Linear, Sentry, Bugsnag and AWS costs, each attached to the project it belongs to.

CLI

shipchart status prints a morning summary. Revenue, check-ins and roadmaps are there too.

MCP server

Connect Claude, Cursor or any MCP client and ask questions about your own portfolio.

REST API

Everything in the app is in the API. Reading is free, and the Builder plan can write too.

/agents

Works with the coding agents
you already use.

Shipchart knows your projects, revenue, goals and roadmap. Your coding agent doesn't, until you connect it. After that you can hand it work from your roadmap too. The delegation page has the details.

›The MCP server lets Claude, Cursor or any MCP client read your portfolio. The Builder plan can write to it as well.
›shipchart context export prints the same project context in a terminal.
›Assign a GitHub issue to Copilot, or pass a Linear issue to a Linear agent, from the project page.
›shipchart worker runs Claude Code, Codex or Gemini on your own machine, in a separate git worktree, and opens a pull request.

/ai tools

A few AI tools
are built in.

They sit inside the roadmap and the check-in form, and you can ignore them. Each use spends AI credits. One credit is roughly one cent of model usage, and the Builder plan includes a monthly allowance.

  • ›Think With Me talks a decision through with you
  • ›Challenge Me looks for the weak points in a roadmap item
  • ›Work item generation breaks a roadmap item into tasks
  • ›Check-in drafts are written from your recent activity
  • ›The name generator suggests names for a project
